Leadership skills can play a large role in career development. Often, your technical skills can only take you so far. To help you move forward in your career, you need soft skills such as the ability to be a good leader and manager beyond your technical roles. Therefore, leadership skills are considered to be important traits which can help you get to the top of your career field. You’re more likely to be hired or get a promotion if you’ve been successful in leadership roles in your professional or personal life. There are many different types of leadership, and there are many skillets that can help you become a successful leader. But how do you attain these key skills?
The University of Washington (UW) in partnership with Imprint (U) Ltd is offering you an opportunity to gain these skills through its online Leadership and Management in Health Certificate (LMIH) course. The Leadership & Management in Health focuses on the practical leadership and management skills that are required for working in complex local, regional, national and global health environments. Participants will develop a clear sense of the issues associated with the organization, financing, and delivery of health care services within a global health context. Personal leadership development and practical management skills are both emphasized.
Whereas the course is targeting people in a health setting, the concepts and materials apply to anyone looking at improving their personal leadership abilities and practical management skills.
